The Prince of Peace
Varsity Track Team had another banner performance at the 2007 DPL City
Championship. Our girls took first place, the boys took second place and
the combined teams won the overall championship. Each and every athlete
performed at their highest level with virtually everyone achieving a
personal best. Prince of Peace had 60 more points than the nearest
competitor in the combined results! It is obvious when you read the
roster that these students participate in multiple athletic, artistic and
scholarly activities for POP.
For their efforts, Prince of Peace will now retain the rights to two
traveling trophies for another year. Many new school records were set
during the season and some new DPL records were set as well. But this
years most significant accomplishments were not about records, but
teamwork and PB’s.

We have now completed
the updates for POP school records and 2007 awards. 21 out of 56 record
categories were set this year by the JV and Varsity athletes! We keep all
years posted so you can view the progression over time. It’s amazing to
see the times keep dropping and the distances/heights keep increasing!
Please seek out
opportunities this summer for track & field competition. Otherwise, we
hope to see you in the fall for cross country, or on the track next
spring.
